Honk

“Honk” is one of my favorites. Her name is Yankee Doodle and represents the goose owned by my Aunt Ellen when I was a kid. The real Yankee was a favorite of everyone. She was very verbal “HONK!”when her territory was disturbed, an exceptionally good watch goose.  It was a sad day for the whole family and the neighborhood when Yankee died. A more loved and respected pet could not be found anywhere on the Southside of Allentown. My Yankee is nested in a crystal salt cellar owned by Aunt Ellen and given to me by my cousins after she died. I could not think of a better way to honor Aunt Ellen and the goose we all loved.
